We have been established since 1975, a registered charity since 1994, an affiliated member of Shree Prajapati Association (UK) and governed by their constitution. The Affiliated Organisation will endeavour to carry out all policy decisions made by the National Association (SPA (UK)), to provide the highest level of service benefit to our members and enhance the unity of Prajapati community. The objects of the branch association shall be the advancement of the Hindu religion and education, particularly in Hindu culture and the relief of poverty and sickness among the Prajapati Community.
We have been organising Navratri annually for many years whereby any member of the Hindu community may attend. Diwali is another very important event that is held every year a week prior to Diwali where we hire a live group to entertain our members. There are events like a Sathia competition, children’s games and fancy dress for the children.
Our committee member (which comprise of elderly, senior, ladies and youth) are very active and participate in many of our local and national events. These events are organised with the guidance and assistance of our members locally, which is discussed and agreed and minuted at our monthly committee meetings.
We also hold Annual AGM’s which have been held during our Diwali Show, the President, Secretary and Treasurer are asked to present a report/financials to all the member so they understand what has happened throughout the year locally and nationally.
With local activities we also take active part in SPA (UK) activities such as Mahila Samelan, Senior Sneh Samelan, Sports Day, Dinner & Dance (Ball), Family Fun Day, AGM etc. Bolton has played a very big part in the SPA (UK) as we have had member from our local committee taking on prominent roles with the head quarters such President, Secretary, Mahila Convenor, Mahila
Secretary, Youth Leader, International Trust Fund Chairperson.
In 2019, we held the Senior Sneh Samelan in Bolton on behalf of SPA (UK), this event was an excellent opportunity to showcase our commitment to SPA (UK). We had more than 630 members attend from all over the UK. The theme for the 7th Senior Sneh Samelan was technology. The day was packed with various speakers and presentations about technology from members of SPA (UK). There were also short dramas, dances, Bhajans and a game to finish the day. The entire Bolton branch team of Volunteers, Management Committee and the Trustees worked extremely hard and were committed to making this day a great success.
Mahila Samelan has also been held in Bolton twice on behalf of the SPA (UK) with attendance of approximately 900/1000 members from all over the UK. Both events have been very successful in assisting the Bolton branch in building a stronger foundation for the future.
The objects of the branch association are the advancement of the Hindu religion and education, particularly in Hindu culture and the relief of poverty and sickness among the Prajapati Community.
Nothing confirmed at present due to the Covid-19 pandemic – all on hold pending government instructions.
