Our purpose – To collaborate and coordinate to create opportunities for each inherent talent, dreams, and desires to fulfill. To change attitude and stereotypical perceptions towards women.

Outcome – To be known faces all over for your work, your endeavors, your business, your art, your creativity and contribute towards prosperity of family and self.

Goal – Personal Satisfaction. The team has been working hard to carry it forward in supporting women from all fields to grow professionally as well as personally. The group’s tagline, ‘Lift! Support! Rise!’ is inspired by the poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou’s quote, ‘try and be a rainbow in someone’s cloud’.

The group was created on the 6th April 2016 as Inspiring Indian Women. Its members are based not only in the UK, but all over the world. In just six months the membership touched almost 5000. Slowly and steadily the group is rising to reach its objective by sharing inspirational stories of women in all fields be it in performing arts, entrepreneurship, children’s talent or even creating awareness against any gender bias issue.

The group believes in collaborating and coordinating with other Indian groups to organise events, for example with IWIL, IIL, Hindi women in UK, Made in India, IMUK, Jammu Kashmir festival team, Essex Indians, Events to Empower, Women 2 Women and Brahmin Society of North London, Enfield Saheli etc.

Vision & Mission:

• To bring together women from all over the world on one platform and work towards bigger goals.
• Generate wider ideas and network with females worldwide to work towards uplifting and creating awareness toward social causes.
• To organise programmes to enlighten cultural heritage and assist in making the presence of stronger Indian community in London and globally.

Strengths:

• More than 13K Facebook group members and still growing.
• More than 60 active members working 24/7 when required towards the group interest.
• Fortunate to have Patron Padma Shri and Janak Palta McGilligan.

Few activities at your glance:

• “I am possible” to promote handicrafts/ handlooms with discussion on cultural identity.
• Organising “Republic Day” celebration at Zoroastrian Centre since 4yrs (300+ Indians attend)
• Garba at Waterloo.
• Jammu Kashmir Knocking at Kings Cross (to promote peace).
• Say No to Body Shaming along with panel discussion at Nehru Centre.
• United We Stand at Kings Cross.
• Christmas party for special needs children at St Saviours Parish, Abbots Langley.
• Speaking about mental health at the Indian High Commission.
• Participation in the prestigious event like Diwali event at Trafalgar Square organised by the Mayor of London.
• Independence Day celebration organised by the Indian High Commission.
• New India, A Symposium.
• Continuous virtual events – meeting Heart to Heart, Live it Up – your way to beat the lockdown blues, Here to Hear since March 2020.

IIW E-Outlet:

The pandemic taught us many lessons. One amongst it is to come together in support of each other with greater strength and integrity. Many jobs were lost, and many women struggled to meet ends. IIW decided to support women entrepreneurs to expand the market out of Facebook through a website.

We decided to focus on three things –

1. Free upload of unlimited products for 6 months.
2. Offer training and support to register a business.
3. Assist in turning skills into a profession with motivation and all focus into marketing the website, so that the women can reap the benefits and become self reliant. We have a strong team of 20 women on the go!

Objectives/Mission:

Inspiring Indian Women, (not for profit organisation) was started with the vision to reach out and inspire each other with their success stories. It not only aims to help and promote Indian culture across the globe, but also provide a healthy platform for our Indian women to motivate and support others.
